The New Age Knight is of particular significance to Deanna because of her past experience in fencing. Deanna is the individual who thought of the idea for the documentary and along with Sean Cullen has been making sure it becomes a great film. Deanna is the director for The New Age Knight, which means she is in charge of all the creative aspects in the film. Everything you see when watching the film Deanna will have had a say in.
After graduating high school Sean Cullen went into Media Fundamentals a Sheridan College 1 year program. Following the program he decided to take a year off which entailed travelling to Europe and discovering him. He then proceeded to join the Bachelor of Film and Television where is currently in his third year. Sean is the producer on The New Age Knight and is in charge of all the paperwork associated with making a film. He is also in charge of all the crew and making sure everyone is working hard.
As The Director of Photography on The New Age Knight, George is in charge of every visual you see on the screen. His knowledge about how lighting and cameras work allows the directors vision to come true. George is able to make buzzwords like ‘flashy, extreme, dark, sad or intense’ come true on the screen and make each picture worth a thousand words. George is also in his third year of The Bachelor of Film and Television at Sheridan College.
As the Transmedia Producer, Brandon is in charge advertising the documentary so that more people will be interested and want to watch it. He accomplishes this through a multitude of ways. By posting to multiple social media accounts and creating info graphics Brandon creates buzz for the film and a following. In the case of The New Age Knight Brandon is also in charge of the Behind the Scenes videos and photography. He also is the individual responsible for the logo used in all of the advertising.
Megan Tost is the role of Gaffer on The New Age Knight. This involves helping out the camera and lighting crew to make sure each shot is perfect.
Max is the Assistant Camera role on The New Age Knight. This role entails working a lot with the Director of Photography. Their roles on a set could include focus pulling, changing batteries or swapping lenses so that the Director of Photography can execute his interpretation of the director’s vision. Max also has a large interest in postproduction sound but on this project they are only the Assistant Camera.
Naomi has a large passion towards sound so naturally she is the Location Sound for The New Age Knight. Location Sound is a quite niche role that can sometimes be under appreciated. Location Sound captures high quality audio of a variety of sources. They will capture sound from the interviewer, the interviewee, the wind, the natural sound of the location and of any cool sound making objects. The reason for capturing all this high quality sound is so the sound editor has a good quality audio to work with.
Being the Sound Editor Jessie’s work relies on that of the Location Sound person. If the Location Sound has captured great quality audio then Jessie can manipulate it even further to flow perfectly with the visuals of editors story. In some cases audio is best constructed from the ground up. A Sound Editor may have to create their own audio so that they can manipulate it more. Jessie is also in the third year of a Bachelor of Film and Television and cant wait to see what the future holds for her.
Currently in his third year of a Bachelor of Film and Television Daniel Pugliano has a large interest in cameras and gaffing. On The New Age Knight his role is that of a second Assistant Camera and gaffer. His jobs entail working with the director of photography to set up the best lighting for the scene and assisting the First Assistant Camera with any tasks they may need.
Stéphan grew up in rural Québec and after graduating high school ventured off to southern Ontario to attend the Bachelor of Film and Television at Sheridan College. His passion lies in all things related to sound. Whether that is Location Sound, Sound Editing or anything to do with music Stéphan loves it. In the case of the New Age Knight Stéphan is the composer, which is the individual responsible for the score of the film. He works with the director to figure out which types of music would fit best into the film.
Emily Pritchard is the Post Production Supervisor for The New Age Knight. Her roles include being the main line of communication between the director and the editor, completing postproduction paperwork, and ensuring the editor has everything they need to get their job done. She deals with all the postproduction paperwork including cue sheets, editing details, and scheduling so that everything in post gets finished by the deadline in an organized fashion. Emily is also responsible for backing up and organizing all of the footage from the shoots so it’s ready for editing.
As the Editor in The New Age Knight Kyle has one of the largest says in how the final film looks. He assembles, cuts, constructs and manipulates all the footage that the Director of Photography captures. It is said that the Editor is the person that the Directors works the most with on a film. Kyle decides if the film is fast by cutting quick or slow by cutting gradually. He sifts through every piece of footage to find the few seconds that fit perfectly.
