Aisling M. Flynn-Post, Director

Radio Name: Cy Burns

@haileytsolakisphotography

I am a 3rd-year student in the Bachelor of Film and Television program at Sheridan College. I wanted to direct Stay Tuned because I really like the approach that the creator, Julia, wants to take when investigating the myth that radio is “dying”. Being able to work alongside so many talented people on this project is making it very worthwhile. Every person who is apart of this documentary is extremely passionate about its message and that is why I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Brandon Bellon, Director of Photography

Radio name: Brando Bello

@haileytsolakisphotography

Brandon spent most of his life doodling characters and studying art, that was until he had a change of heart when his love of film overwhelmed his love for art. Soon after he discovered a passion for photography which inspired him to become a cinematographer so he could make art faster than he ever could drawing. Brandon’s one wish is to inspire others to live out their dreams and make the world a better place through his work.

Vanessa Barbosa, Writer

Radio name: D-JayJay

Vanessa Barbosa is currently completing her third year of Honours Bachelor in Film and Television production at Sheridan College. Specializing in writing and production design, Vanessa has joined the creative team as a co- writer and researcher. It was Julia’s passion and dedication for radio that inspired Vanessa to help Julia tell her story. She ensures that a coherent story is always present, with extensive research completed in order to support the narrative. Before the camera roles the writer has to imagine exactly what is going to take place and how to make all the interviews mesh into one working story. Along with the director, Vanessa ensures that this is met every step of the way.

Vanessa England Ross, Assistant Director

Radio name: DJ 2-Reeler

@haileytsolakisphotography

Listening in near St. Thomas, Ontario, V.E. Ross’ relationship with radio began with station songs recorded directly onto cassette tapes. When she turned 13, she began experimenting with voice acting and music video editing using footage from her favourite films, following up these skills in high school. Her love for the media expanded further at Western University, graduating with an Honours Bachelor in Film Studies and a published research paper on the initial audience reaction to Disney’s Fantasia. She continues to act and exercise her academic passions through her personal side project, the web review series Into the Mouse Hole.

Elmoatasem Bellah Ragab, Boom Operator

Radio Name: Elmo

@haileytsolakisphotography

Hearing about Stay tuned for the first time, I was intrigued by the quest that the documentary was embarking on. Being a boom operator for the project, I was there to help out our location mixer, Aaron Lebel, in making sure the sound captured was the best it could be. I usually specialize in visual effects, but I’m very passionate about delving into the world of sound because it presents the biggest challenges beyond my visual effects work.

Emily Pritchard, Picture Editor

Radio name: E-News

Emily Pritchard is the editor of Stay Tuned. She is very passionate about editing, and has experience cutting all different genres. Emily is eager to work on Stay Tuned because she loves to listen to the radio, and is excited to look into the direction that radio is headed in the future. Emily is also excited to help showcase the many different creative stories that are included in this documentary, as she believes that they will inspire many others to follow what they love.
