Michael Ierulli, Cinematographer

Born and raised in Toronto, Michael Ierulli developed a passion for films at a very young age. Under the influence of his parents who work in the film industry, Michael studied communications technology at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, where he was introduced to DSLR cameras and the Adobe Premiere editing software and created a number of short films during his academic During freshman year at Sheridan College, he became fascinated by analog photography and began experimenting with 35mm film, discovering his skills in crafting in-camera effects and long exposures of landscapes. His renewed interest in photography fueled his pursuit in working with analog cameras, for which he would implement in his short film “Shutterbug”, which he used a combination of digital technology and 16mm motion picture film. Shutterbug received a nomination for Best First Year Initiative Film at the 2016 Screen Arts Awards in Toronto. Throughout his years in the BFTV program Michael continues refining his skills in cinematography, contributing as DoP to numerous film productions alongside his peers. Michael is recognized by his talent at impersonations and voice work as the hyperactive sockpuppet character Matt Wool in the second year television production; Sir George Mcgee’s Magical Laundromat.
